Imagine
you are talking to
a relative, a friend or a work colleague. You are talking about a
past
event/ activity. The event/ activity in question relates to a flight
reservation you have made. The flight will be at some point in the
future, but the reservation is already made. The other person wants
to know if there were seats available on that flight when you made
the reservation and
says to you something like: "were
there seats on that flight?"
In
Spanish, the other person could say:
¿Quedaban
plazas en ese vuelo?
The
question is an invitation for you to say whether or not there were
any seats available when you made your reservation. Here are some
examples of how you could reply:
- Sí, quedaban muchas plazas en ese vuelo (yes, there were many seats available on that flight);
- Sí, todavía quedaban muchas plazas en ese vuelo (yes, there were still many seats available on that flight);
- Sí, quedaban algunas plazas en ese vuelo (yes, there were some seats available on that flight);
- Sí, quedaban muy pocas plazas en ese vuelo (yes, there were very few seats available on that flight);
- No, no quedaban plazas en ese vuelo (no, there were no seats available on that flight);
- No, ya no quedaban plazas en ese vuelo (no, there were no seats available on that flight/ all seats were already booked);
- No, no quedaba ninguna plaza en ese vuelo (no, there were no seats available on that flight);
- No sé si quedaban plazas en ese vuelo (I don't know if there were any seats available on that flight);
Now
you should practise answering the question:
¿Quedaban
plazas en ese vuelo?
