Resaca

In Spanish, “resaca” is a feminine noun of Gothic origin, which means undercurrent/ undertow.

The noun “resaca” is also a commonly used Spanish term to refer to a hangover.


A commonly used expression with the word “resaca” is:

  • Resaca monumental (a huge/ monumental hangover);


A couple of examples of the use of the word "resaca" are:
  • Poco a poco, la resaca nos iba alejando de la orilla (little by little, the undertow was causing us to drift away from the shore);
