Imagine
you
are talking to a relative, a friend or colleague. Maybe you talking
about daily flights between Madrid and Barcelona. The other person
thinks you know a lot about that route and at some point says
to you something like: "how
many flights are there from Madrid to Barcelona?"
In
Spanish, the other person could say:
¿Cuántos
vuelos hay de Madrid a Barcelona?
The question is an
invitation for you to say how many flights do the route Madrid →
Barcelona. Your reply depends only on whether you:
- Know roughly the number of flights per day;
- Don't know the number of flights per day;
Here are some
examples of how you could reply:
- Hay muchos vuelos (there are many flights);
- Hay más de cuarenta vuelos diarios (there are more than 40 daily flights);
- No sé cuantos vuelos hay (I don't how many flights there);
Now
you should practise answering the question:
¿Cuántos
vuelos hay de Madrid a Barcelona?
