At What Time Does The Flight Arrive?

Introduction

This post deals with time in general, and more specifically with the time, at which a flight, for example, arrives.

SCENARIO

Imagine you are talking to a relative, a friend or colleague about a flight you have planned or you are both just about to catch. The other person doesn't know the arrival time of that flight and says to you : "at what time does the flight arrive?"

In Spanish, the other person could choose to say:
¿A qué hora llega el vuelo?

OUR TIP

The question is an invitation for you to state at what time your flight arrives. Your reply should depend only on whether you:

  • Know at what time your flight is due to arrive
  • Don't know when the flight will arrive

Here are a couple of examples of how you could reply:
  • Llega a la una y veinte (it arrives at 1:20)
  • No sé a qué hora llega (I don't know when it arrives)

*Notes

Please note the difference between the expressions of time used in these answers and typical expressions used in telling the time, such as:
  • Es la una y media (it is half past one)
  • No sé qué hora es (I don't know what time it is)

Now you should practise answering the question:
¿A qué hora llega el vuelo?
