SCENARIO
Imagine
you are talking to
a relative, a friend or a work colleague. Your look a little tired
and the other person
says: "do
you feel sleepy?"
In
Spanish, the other person could choose to be less formal and say:
¿Tienes
sueño?
Alternatively,
he/ she could choose to be more formal and say:
¿Tiene
usted sueño?
OUR
TIP
A
straightforward yes/ no answer could be sufficient. But if you wanted
to be a bit more informative you could say:
- Sí, tengo sueño (yes, I feel sleepy);
- Sí, tengo un poco de sueño (yes, I feel a little sleepy);
- Sí, tengo bastante sueño (yes, I feel quite sleepy);
- Sí, tengo mucho sueño (yes, I feel very sleepy);
- No, no tengo sueño (no, I don't feel sleepy);
Now
you should practise answering the question:
¿Tienes
sueño?
