Imagine
you
are talking to a relative, a friend or colleague. Maybe you are
talking about going to a football (soccer) match. The other person
is concerned about the price of the admission and says to you
something like: "how
much is the admission to the game?"
In
Spanish, the other person could say:
¿Cuánto
cuesta la entrada del partido?
The question is an
invitation for you to say whether or not you know the price of the
admission to the event in question. Your reply depends on whether you
want to say that you:
- Believe you know roughly the price;
- Know roughly the price;
- Know the correct price;
- Don't know the price;
Here are some
examples of how you could reply:
- Creo que cuesta unos treinta euros (I believe it costs around 30 Euros);
- Cuesta unos treinta euros (it costs about 30 Euros);
- Cuesta treinta euros (it costs 30 Euros);
- No sé cuanto cuesta la entrada (I don't know how much the admission is);
Now
you should practise answering the question:
¿Cuánto
cuesta la entrada del partido?
