SCENARIO
Imagine
you are talking to a relative, a friend or a work colleague
about the jealousy/ envy which exist between some of your friends.
At
some point, the other person says:
"who
is jealous?"
In
Spanish, the other person could choose to be less formal and say:
¿Quién
tiene celos?
OUR
TIP
Answering
this question should be straightforward. Naming the person who feels
jealous may be sufficient. However, you may use the expression tener
celos to make your answer more informative.
Here
are some examples of how you could use that expression:
- A veces yo tengo celos (sometimes, I am jealous);
- Pedro tiene muchos celos (Pedro is very jealous);
- María tiene muchos celos (María is very jealous);
- A veces todos tenemos celos (we all feel jealous sometimes);
- Pedro y María tienen celos (Pedro and María are jealous);
Now
you should practise answering the question:
¿Quién
tiene celos?
