Labrador

Today's WOTD is: "labrador" = farmer
In Spanish, “labrador” is a masculine noun of Latin origin, which means farmer or farm worker (male)*, as in:
  • El cuento del labrador y sus hijos (the tale of the farmer and his sons);

*NB The feminine form “labradora” should be used when meaning a female farmer/ farm worker.

The noun “labrador” is also used to refer to the Labrador/ Labrador retriever dog breed.

There is a northern region of Canada called Labrador and that name is also a related word.
