La palabra de hoy es: 'mejor' = better/ the best.
In Spanish, 'mejor' can be used to indicate either the superior item in comparisons (better) or to indicate a superlative (the best). Only when used to indicate a superlative can 'mejor' take different forms: 'el/ la/ lo mejor', 'los/ las mejores'. Whereas 'el/ la mejor', 'los/ las mejores' can be used as adjectives, 'lo mejor' is used always on its own, it does not change and is used to indicate something which is 'simply the best'.
