Parabrisas


Today's WOTD is: "parabrisas"* = windscreen/ windshield

In Spanish, the word "parabrisas" is a masculine noun consisting of the prefix “para”, of Greek origin and the noun “brisa” of uncertain origin. The meaning of “parabrisas” is windscreen/ windshield.

*NB the noun “parabrisas” is both singular and plural.

An example of the use of the word "parabrisas" is:
  • El parabrisas está lleno de insectos y hay que limpiarlo (the windscreen/ windshield is full of dead insects and needs cleaning).
