What Is Your Best Male Friend Like?

Introduction

This post deals with describing people -a male person.

SCENARIO

Imagine you talking to a relative or a work colleague. You are talking about your friends. The other person wants to know about your best male friend and says to: "what is your best male friend like?".

In Spanish, the other person could choose to be less formal and say:
¿Cómo es tu mejor amigo?

Alternatively, he/ she could choose to be a little bit more formal and say:
¿Cómo es su mejor amigo?

OUR TIP

Answering that question should be quite straight forward. You should NOT need to consider more formal or less formal replies. Just say something about your best male friend.

Perhaps you want to mention his:
  • Name.
  • Age.
  • Marital status.
  • Profession/ occupation.
  • Nationality.
  • His appearance.
  • Other characteristics

Here are some sample replies:
  • Se llama Pedro (his name is Pedro);
  • Está soltero (he is single);
  • Tiene treinta años (he is 30 years old);
  • Es maestro (he is a teacher);
  • No tiene hijos (he doesn't have any children);
  • Es alto (he is tall);
  • Es delgado (he is thin);
  • Es muy guapo (he is very good looking);
  • Es mexicano (he is Mexican)
  • Es bajo (he is short);
  • Es un poco gordo (he is a little fat);
  • Lleva gafas (he wears glasses);
  • Es inteligente (he is intelligent)
  • Es trabajador (he is hard working)
  • Es simpático (he is pleasant/ likeable);
