In Spanish, “asa” is a feminine* noun of Latin origin, the main meaning of which is handle, as in:
- Las asas de esa cazuela son muy pequeñas (the handles on that cooking pot are very small);
The related noun “asidero” means a handle or similar fixture, as in:
- Los servicios disponen de asideros de baño (the toilets are fitted with bathroom grab bars);
- Los servicios disponen de asideros de pared (the toilets are fitted with wall grab bars);
