Today's WOTD is: "carné" = card

In Spanish, the noun "carné" is a masculine noun of French origin, the meaning of which is card.

Some commonly used expressions containing the words "carné" are:
  • carné de conducir (driving licence);
  • carné de estudiante (student card);
  • carné de identidad (identity card);
  • carné de socio (membership card);

Some examples of the use of the word "carné" are:
  • Quiero sacarme el carné de conducir (I want to get my driving licence);
  • Viajar es más barato con carné de estudiante (travel is cheaper with a student card);
