La palabra de hoy es: 'menor' = smaller/ the smallest.

In Spanish, 'menor' can be used to indicate either the item with a lesser size, degree, age, etc. in comparisons (smaller) or to indicate the item with the least size, degree, age, etc.  (the smallest). In Spanish, 'menor' can also be used to mean an under-age person/ a minor... or in music, a 'minor' scale.

Examples of usage:
  • Tengo un hermano menor  (I have a younger brother)
  • El menor porcentage de parados (the lowest unemployment percetage)
  • Política de protección del menor (youth protection policy)
